How often should I sharpen and wax my skis or snowboard?

Most skiers and snowboarders benefit from a ski or snowboard wax and sharpen every 5–10 days of riding, depending on snow conditions and usage. If your gear feels slow, edges don’t grip well, or bases look dry or grey, it’s time for a tune. Regular maintenance helps extend the life of your equipment and keeps performance consistent.

Is this service suitable for both skis and snowboards?

Yes. Our snowboard wax and sharpen and ski wax and sharpen service is designed for both skis and snowboards. The process is adapted to each type of equipment to ensure proper edge tuning and smooth base glide.

What edge angle do you sharpen to?

We use industry-standard edge angles suitable for most recreational skiers and snowboarders. If you have specific preferences or riding styles, our staff can discuss options when you drop off your gear.

Do you use hot wax or machine wax?

We use all-temperature iron applied hot wax as part of our ski and snowboard service to improve glide and protect the base for reliable on-snow performance.

Do you need to sharpen and wax brand new skis?

No, not typically necessary as they come tuned and waxed straight from the factory of reputable brands.  If there is any doubt we are happy to offer a free assessment of the ski/ snowboard condition and offer advice on the right service for your equipment.
