Our Summer Storage Wax service is priced at $30.00 and is designed to protect skis and snowboards during the off-season.

Base material, primarily polyethylene often referred to as P-tex, can dry out and oxidize over time. Changes in temperature and long storage periods may leave bases looking dull, warped or feeling dry by the time next season arrives.

A ski storage wax or storage wax snowboard service applies a generous layer of hot wax that is intentionally left on the base over summer. This wax layer acts as a protective barrier against air exposure, warpage and moisture.

There is no additional charge to scrape the skis or snowboard at the start of next season when you are ready to ride again.

From End of Season to First Day Back

Step 1 – End of Season Drop Off

Bring your skis or snowboard to Mountain Cultures once your season is complete.

We confirm the bases are clean and ready for storage wax application.

Step 2 – Hot Wax Application

We apply a generous layer of hot wax using an iron to ensure proper coverage and absorption.

Unlike an in-season tune, the wax is not scraped and brushed immediately. Instead, it is left on the base to form a protective coating.

This thicker wax layer helps reduce exposure to air and environmental conditions over the summer months.

Step 3 – Ready for Next Season

When winter returns, bring your skis or snowboard back in.

We will scrape and brush the storage wax at no additional charge so your equipment is ready for snow. This helps ensure your first day back feels smooth and consistent.
