Types of Longboards
There are several different types of longboards, each designed for a specific riding style. Some of the most popular riding styles include cruising, downhill racing, and freeriding.
Cruiser Longboards
Cruiser longboards are the most popular type of longboard and are great for beginners. They are designed for cruising around and riding down hills. Cruiser longboards typically have a directional shape with a kicktail, similar to a skateboard. The kicktail makes it easier to navigate around obstacles and to make sharp turns.
Downhill Longboards
Downhill longboards are designed for riding at high speeds downhill. They are the most stable type of longboard and are designed to keep you safe at speeds over 50mph. Downhill longboards typically have a lower profile and a drop-through or double drop deck. This lower center of gravity makes them more stable at high speeds.
